Happy Fall, Y'all!!

Today marks the first day of fall, but you couldn't prove it by me. This heat! Have mercy! I'm over it. The sweating, the swimsuits, tank tops and shorts. Done.

But, apparently, the weather doesn't really care what I think. It continues to be hot and humid. And I continue to sweat.

So, in an effort to ignore the summer-like weather, I'm dreaming of crisp mornings, crunchy leaves and apple cider. I'm imagining cooler, dryer temps and my ability to wear jeans, boots, sweaters and jackets. I'm pretending it's fall.

Ahhh, now doesn't that just feel better?

So, if you love fall too, and want to get in the mood for the season, I've got some fall offerings coming your way now.

First: I'm blogging over at Des Moines Moms Blog today about Fall Fashion for Busy Moms. Pull up a bowl of peanuts and candy corn and read about five new trends for Fall 2016. One of them I'm going to pass on, but the rest are perfect additions to my wardrobe.

Here's a sneak peek:

Fall 2016's hot colors will be burgundy, navy and plum. Look for florals, monochromatic stylings, off the shoulder tops and turtlenecks.

Second: we talked all about fall fashion in our Straight From The Heart(land) Podcast episode this week. Sarah, Stacey and I talked about our favorite part of fashion in the fall (it's the layers) and Sarah gave us great insights into the latest trends making their way off the runways and into our closets.

Here's the link to listen!

Finally, the other great thing about fall is the new tv shows. Who else is watching This Is Us on NBC?? I loved the first episode and I'm hopeful this will fill the Parenthood show hole. What do you think?

I'm also hopeful for The Good Place with Kirsten Bell on NBC and MacGyver and The Great Indoors on CBS. Keifer Sutherland is back, too, but this time he's a lower-level cabinet member named Tom Kirkman thrust into the presidency in Designated Survivor on ABC. Finally what we've always wanted, for Jack Bauer to have the authority to do whatever he needs to do to save the day.

My first request would be to turn the heat the heck DOWN! We'll all get along better if we're not ready to snap due to a heat-induced rage.
