Mass shootings. Threats to our schools. Hurricanes.

Our news programs and social media feeds are filled with scary, tragic events. And that can make us feel fearful.

Fear is one of those emotions that grows exponentially. And it's so easy to feed it when that which you hold dear seems threatened. I'm tempted to give in. Maybe you are, too.

But, there's a power greater than fear. Perfect love. Darkness cannot exist where there is light.

When you feel overwhelmed, remember that He (Jesus) who is within you is greater than he who is in the world. Put your trust in Jesus and his promise: "In this world you will have trouble. But, take heart, I have overcome the world."

Be love. Have hope. Shine bright.
